A beautiful and unusual antique rug that not only has the classic dragons and phoenixes, but also an exquisite peony on a branch with leaves at the center. The soft black field with stylised dragons chasing flaming pearl gems together with stylised phoenixes and surrounded by clouds in various formations and colors.  Handloomed Tibetan wool and vegetable and mineral dyes. Slight discoloration and fraying on cord as seen in the last photo, otherwise in excellent condition. Early 20th century. 67 x 36 inches (170 x 91cm)
